On XX/XX/XXXX, I received a check as payment for work I was scheduled to perform. Suspecting that the check might be fraudulent, I immediately contacted Regions Bank to report my concerns. I also reached out to the company that supposedly issued the check, and they confirmed that it was indeed fraudulent. Consequently, my checking account was locked by the bank. I promptly informed Regions Bank about the situation. They advised me that my case was under review and that my account would likely remain suspended pending an investigation, which they estimated would take 30 days to complete. By XX/XX/XXXX, having received no further communication, I visited the XXXX XXXX branch to seek an update. I was told they would investigate and get back to me, but no one did. A week later, I returned for an update and was assured that someone would call me back ; however, I did not receive any follow-up. I then contacted the customer service hotline, but they were unable to assist and directed me to visit a branch. Returning to the branch, I was informed that a ticket had been submitted regarding my case, but there was nothing more they could do at that time. Seeking resolution, I visited the XXXX, Florida branch where I originally opened my account. I spoke with the branch manager, who promised to look into the matter. A few days later, she contacted me and stated that she was unable to release my funds due to an alleged credit card debt from XXXX. To my understanding, even if such a debt existedwhich I believe it does notit would fall outside Florida 's statute of limitations for debt collection, which is five years. Currently, my account remains open and continues to accrue interest, yet I have no access to my funds. I have personally requested validation of any alleged debts at the branch but have not received any documentation or evidence. It has now been seven months without access to my money. I am becoming increasingly desperate, as no one from Regions Bank has provided assistance or a resolution to this issue.
