Went to 5/3 bank to deposit my check from my taxes. The check was written in both my wife and XXXX name. My wife is not on my account so I called their branch to discuss this, they claim its no big deal tell her to come up with you and sign the check and show your license/proof of id etc etc. They claimed theres a possibility of a XXXX hold on the check, no big deal my wife and leave feeling good about everything. The next morning I wake up and decide to check my online account. To my surprise the check had already cleared and funds was available. I think great, off work, everythings good. By lunch time they decided to freeze my entire account, I call and bank XXXX tells me it was and error on the tellers part for not properly verifying my wifes id. So now XXXX days later and no word from the fraud department with my account completely froze I sit stuck with no means to money and XXXX little kids. All on account of an internal error, that only im paying for. XXXX days later and theyre telling me therere waiting to hear back from the payee for verification.. what??? Its a check from the United States XXXX XXXX Treasury!!! And you already deposited at XXXX point into my account, now you want to take it back and freeze all my finances. This is absurd, and their fraud department reads you the same thing over and over from a script and you get no answers about anything. Im looking into legal action if possible.
