Consumer Narrative

My application was mishandled from the very beginning by the Mortgage Loan Originator. Specific documentation was misrepresented or not requested. My application was submitted for underwriting several times and kept being returned because my file was not completed correctly. I was told my tax returns needed to be amended to close though loan although I had already submitted an amendment. My first amendment was accepted by the IRS and the mortgage company refused to process because the second amendment was not matching the transcript for the first amendment. The mortgage underwriters then went back and accepted the first amendment after I rescinded the second amendment the mortgage company said was necessary to process. The delays in the request for information took me past my original credit report. The originator had told me via email that my credit report did not expire until XX/XX/year>. Then the Director in Mortgage told me that it expired on XX/XX/year> which was two days before my delayed closing was due to be scheduled. I was told my second credit report was within DTI limits to schedule closing then I was told the next day that my student loans were never counted from the beginning and had to be counted at XXXX XXXX. This was an additional failure on the front end which cost me my loan approval since counting the loans put me over my DTI ratio. I was told that I had to obtain a payment amount from my loan servicer so that they would not have to count the entire XXXX XXXX. Department of Education has placed a hold on all IDR payment plans and put these loans on executive forbearance. Therefore, I could not obtain a loan payment even if I wanted to. All throughout the process I returned requested forms and information immediately. I was told I was brought up on a " random audit '' which put my application and documentation under higher scrutiny. The delays and flagrant mishandling of my file caused the process to extend and additional month. I went with this bank alone and now have no alternative for funding that I can obtain rapidly enough to close on my home. I received no apologies and the life of my family will forever be affected by the errors made by this bank. They did not offer me any alternative loan products, they only told me that they could not approve the loan.
