On XX/XX/year> I called to close my personal savings account with Capital One which I have had for many years. At that time I spoke to XXXX, employee # XXXX and he took my account #, verified my address and said I would receive my check in the amount of {$830.00} in 7-10 business days. Yesterday, XX/XX/year>, I have yet to receive the check. I called to find out the status of the check as it was now XXXX business days since the account was closed. I spoke to a XXXX, XXXX, employee # XXXX who told me that to find out the status of my check that I would have to answer a text with a code. Now, conveniently, giving them my account number was not good enough because the account is closed. I told him I do not do texting. I find it impossible to believe that once an account is closed that their computer system " loses '' all transactional detail and historical information about an account. I did everything to identify myself just to find out the status of my money and why it was a week late. He then told me there was nothing more he or Capital One could do to tell me when I would receive MY money. They are holding MY money XXXX, without earning additional interest, and are not willing to help me any further. It is no wonder I closed my account with Capital One as they not only did not get me my money as promised but also refused to help in locating my funds. I need to get MY money. I am not asking for anything further. I hope you can help. Thank you.
