Good evening, All my accounts at XXXX XXXX ( including the accounts that my kids opened at age XXXX with me were suddenly put on hold/frozen and debited the amount of ( negative ) - {$16000.00} on Thursday, XX/XX/year>. I only found out because I got paid my $ XXXX a couple days prior and I was trying to send my car note payment & pay my utility bills totaling about {$1400.00} on that day but wasn't able to do it. I called XXXX XXXX & was transferred to another department where they told me that there was a legal hold for 2 years for that amount. They informed me that the law office of Blitt & Gaines and their Collection Agency with CASE # XXXX placed a legal hold on my account for the amount of {$9500.00}. XXXX then proceeded to threaten me, telling me they can escalate the situation, saying the hold should be twice the amount ( {$19000.00} ). I told them I don't understand this as I have not received anything from these attorneys explaining this debt, and much less information giving me options of things I can do to prevent this. I could have done something about this if I was informed that this was going as I already have an attorney that can represent me but.... that did not happen. They froze my accounts & the accounts of my sons, XXXX ( XXXX ) who had {$2000.00} saved to pay his University tuition and XXXX ( XXXX ) who was receiving his {$1200.00} ( XXXX - direct deposit check ) the very next day. This has caused great turmoil making it impossible for us to use the little money that we have to pay our bills and our rent. Please trust that I am not a consumer that has money & just refuses to pay. I am a single mom/consumer who has struggled to survive XXXX XXXX XXXX abuse after my divorce, with no alimony and no child support. Covid affected my entire financial situation while I raised my XXXX boys by myself ( as their father was not involved because of his XXXX XXXX ). I lost my house to foreclosure, I lost my business, and I continue living with family and friends while I work to regain my financial independence eventually.
